A new edition of the Lapad Run announced for September 28

With the Lapad Run, which will be run on Saturday, September 28, 2024, Du Motion will once again announce the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is a race in which participants, by running and walking on one of Dubrovnik's most beautiful paths by the sea, contribute to spreading awareness about the prevention of this vicious disease and the need for its early detection.

"For the fourth year in a row, in cooperation with the Department of Public Health of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, we are joining this extremely important campaign. Therefore, this time too we invite individuals, families or groups to register for the race and run or walk 5 or 10 kilometers," said Du Motion director Alen Bošković.

Applications are accepted through the official website of Du Motion, and the number of runners is limited to 150. The price of the running package, which includes, among other things, a unique T-shirt and medal, is 25 euros, and it should be noted that 5 euros from each purchased package will be donated to the League against cancer Dubrovnik.

Let us remind you that breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed malignant disease in women, which is detected in six women every day in Croatia, that is, in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, one case every fourth day. It mostly affects women over 50 years of age, although younger women can also suffer from this type of cancer. About a quarter of cases unfortunately end in death, but it is extremely important to emphasize that the possibility of cure is very high in case of early detection.

The Lapad Run race wants to convey this important information to as many citizens as possible and encourage them to have regular preventive examinations. Join them!
