Pelješac Bridge becomes a running track again
Pelješac Bridge becomes a running track again
Only once a year, the most beautiful bridge in Croatia belongs exclusively to runners. Registrations for the most anticipated evening race are open: on Friday, May 29, the Pelješac Bridge once again becomes a track for 500 lucky participants who will participate in the fifth edition of the Pelješac Bridge Run.
The race, which takes place on the eve of the national Statehood Day, has become a cult place for runners from all over the region. What makes this event special is that pedestrian access to the bridge is strictly prohibited, so this is a unique opportunity to experience the magnificent structure from a completely different perspective.
"For many, this is a race that they have marked on their calendars a full year in advance. It's not about the kilometers they run, but about the emotion - running across the bridge that symbolizes the connection of the entire country and enjoying a spectacular sunset high above the sea is simply an unforgettable experience," said Alen Bošković, director of Du Motion.
The start is scheduled for 8:30 p.m., and runners will cover a 5.5-kilometer course that leads over the bridge and back. Running along the illuminated pylons and a panoramic view of the Mali Ston Bay offers the rare privilege of direct contact with one of the largest bridges in Europe.
Due to safety protocols and the exclusivity of the event, the number of places is strictly limited, and registrations are open via the official Du Motion website. Anyone who wants to be part of this unforgettable evening must secure their place at the starting line in time, as the race sells out in just 24 hours.
The registration fee is 40 euros and includes a start number, official T-shirt, finisher's medal, electronic timing and refreshments.
The Pelješac Bridge, only once a year and only for 500 runners - enough reason to know where you will be on May 29th. See you on the bridge!
