There are races that are measured by a stopwatch and those that are measured by kindness. The jubilee, tenth edition of the Dubrovnik running festival Du Motion once again reminds us that the most valuable steps are not the fastest.

The popular humanitarian race Dubrovnik 5K, which has become a symbol of Dubrovnik solidarity over the years, is joining forces with the “Dad is Dad” association this year to lend a helping hand to those who need it most – orphaned children.

On Sunday, April 26, at 9:35 a.m., Stradun will once again become the most beautiful starting line in the world. But this time, the 5-kilometer-long course represents not just a sporting challenge, but hope. The entire amount of each registration fee paid will be redirected to a fund for scholarships and assistance to children without parental care, turning every kilometer run into concrete support for their growth.

“From the first start on Stradun, through the nine previous editions of the 5K race, we have always run with a humanitarian goal. With this jubilee, tenth lap, we want to raise the bar even higher. I invite everyone who has been with us from the beginning, but also those who have never run before, to join us. It doesn't matter who is faster here, what matters is why we run - for children who dream of opportunities that we often take for granted,” said Du Motion director Alen Bošković.

Ivica Hajdić from the “Dad is Dad” association also sends a similar message: “Our mission has always been clear - to be a support for those who don't have one. Seeing a thousand people on Stradun breathing as one for children without parents is a sight we are especially looking forward to. You don't have to be a top athlete, just come and show that in our city no one has to walk alone."

All participants in the race will receive a blue Running Hero T-shirt, a recognizable sign of belonging to a large running family, while at the finish line everyone will receive a special finisher's medal around their neck. For those who won't be running, fan packages are available for anyone who wants to support this initiative or be part of the atmosphere on Stradun.
