Lapad Run 2025: Dubrovnik runs and walks to support the fight against breast cancer

The charity race Lapad Run returns this autumn on Saturday, September 27, 2025, once again highlighting the importance of prevention and early detection of breast cancer. Organized by Du Motion in cooperation with the Institute of Public Health of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, this event has become a recognizable symbol of Dubrovnik’s unity in the fight against a disease that affects one in ten women in Croatia.
"It is extremely important to us that people perceive Lapad Run not only as a sporting event, but also as a socially responsible initiative. For the fifth year in a row, Dubrovnik has truly demonstrated its support for those who need it most," emphasized Du Motion director Alen Bošković.
Participants can choose between 5 or 10 kilometers, whether they prefer running or walking along the coast. The entry fee, which includes an official T-shirt and a unique participant medal, is 27 euros, with 5 euros being donated to the Dubrovnik Cancer League.
Unfortunately, breast cancer knows no age limits. While it is most common in women over 50, more and more younger women are being affected. That’s why Lapad Run promotes the importance of preventive screenings and community support for those facing illness. The Lapad trail is open to everyone—seasoned runners, recreational athletes, and families with children—where every step becomes part of a collective message of solidarity.
