Dubrovnik 5K race raises 19,560 euros for children without parental care

The Dubrovnik 5K charity race, held as part of Du Motion, once again confirmed that Dubrovnik breathes as one when it comes to helping the most vulnerable. In cooperation with the “Dad is Dad” association, this year’s entry fees raised 19,560 euros.

The entire amount will be directed to a fund for scholarships and providing direct assistance to children without parental care, ensuring their support in education and everyday life.

Du Motion Director Alen Bošković expressed his gratitude to all participants: "Thank you to everyone who supported our campaign by running or cheering. The funds raised are a direct contribution to the children's fund, and the response from citizens and guests confirms that there is clear support for such initiatives. We are pleased that for a decade now, we have been providing concrete assistance to those who need it most through sport."

Bošković also thanked the Dubrovnik-Neretva Police Department, city services and numerous volunteers, whose support was crucial for the realization of the race.

The popular 5K has been gathering local recreational athletes, sports clubs and visitors to Dubrovnik for years, confirming that sport can be a powerful driver of solidarity. The value of this race thus remains visible beyond the course itself - in the concrete effect that lasts even after the stopwatches have been turned off, and this is the main reason why we return to the starting line on Stradun every year.
