A fantastic atmosphere and runners from around the world filled the streets of Dubrovnik

alt

This Sunday, April 27, Dubrovnik was the epicenter of the international running community, attracting runners from nearly 50 countries to its streets. One thousand runners took part in the globally renowned Dubrovnik Half Marathon, and just as many participated in the five-kilometer charity race, filling the city with positive energy. The weather contributed to the fantastic atmosphere and the achievement of excellent results.

“The feeling that we have managed to organize such a spectacle for the ninth time, in every sense of the word, is extraordinary. Thank you to everyone who contributed, especially the volunteers and city services, thanks to our fellow citizens for their support and understanding, and a special thank you to everyone who joined this year’s campaign for little Lukas,” said Du Motion director Alen Bošković.

The fastest runners in the Dubrovnik 21K were Dario Ivanovski from North Macedonia – Ohrid Trcat (1:08:02), Željko Cota – TK Dubrovnik (1:14:26), and Jakub Galasiewicz from Poland (1:15:21) in the men’s category, and Blathnaid Patton from Ireland – Finn Valley (1:31:52), Tijana Kabić – ARK Somaraton Serbia (1:35:16), and Live Gjesdal Nillson from Norway (1:36:12) in the women’s category.

Ivanovski set a new half marathon course record, beating the previous record held by Spain’s Severino Felipe Gomez from 2023 by a full four minutes.

Last year’s Dubrovnik 5K winner, Patryk Sobczyk from Poland, claimed victory again this year with a time of 17:36. He was followed by Emir Hastor – AK Goražde (17:57) and Božo Čanić – AK Dubrovnik (20:51). Among the women, the fastest were Marina Čivčija (23:17), Sanja Lupis Šain – AK Full Time (23:37), and Merjema Šuman – AK Goražde (24:31).

The entire Du Motion event, from the runners’ gathering at Lazareti and Saturday’s Run the Walls race to Sunday’s 5K and 21K races, was filled with sporting spirit, a sense of togetherness, and incredibly positive emotions, which many runners openly displayed as they crossed the finish line on Stradun, the start and end point of all races. At the finish line today, there was even a marriage proposal, a tradition that has become part of Du Motion.

This happiness, laughter, and joyful tears are the best possible announcement for the celebratory tenth edition of Du Motion, so be sure to mark April 25 and 26, 2026, on your calendar!
