Why has the 6th edition of Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik been postponed?

The 6th edition of Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik, originally scheduled to take place on 26th & 27th April 2020, (then 26th & 27th September), has been postponed until next year due to the global pandemic of COVID-19.
Respecting the minimum distance between people (physical distancing), the traceability of personal contacts (contact tracing), the limitation of event sizes or the uncertainty of another wave involve an indeterminable risk for large events like Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik.
Under these conditions, a safe organisation and execution of the event in the intended form and quality is not realistic.

Safety of our runners, staff, volunteers and citizens of Dubrovnik comes first, and unfortunately, we cannot guarantee it in these circumstances.

Traditionally, more than 85% of our participants come from abroad. Current circumstances make it difficult for many of them to plan their travel.

When will the 6th edition of Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik take place?

The 6th edition of Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik is expected to take place on April 30th and May 1st, 2022. The Kids’ Day and Run the Wall race to take place on April 30th, while the Half Marathon and the 5K charity races on May 1st, 2022. The EXPO to take place from April 27st till 30th, 2022.
If government restrictions on public events are lifted in time, we will prepare for the race to take place like every year: starting and ending the races on Stradun in the Old Town.

If I already registered for the 2020 event before the global COVID pandemic, what do I have to do?

You have following options:

- You will automatically be registered for 6th edition of Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik for April 2022. You do not need to contact us if you choose this option as it will be automatically done.

- You can defer your registration to any of the following editions (2023, 2024, 2025) at no additional fee. If you choose this option, then please let us know by Dec 31, 2021 by contacting us at info@du-motion.com.

- You can defer your registration to another person for any of the following editions (2022, 2023, 2024) at no additional fee. If you choose this option, then please let us know by Dec 31, 2021 by contacting us at info@du-motion.com.

What will happen if I do not get in touch with you by Dec 31, 2021?

Those who registered for the 2020 Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik before the global COVID pandemic will automatically be registered for April 2022.

Will I receive a refund for 2020 registration?

In accordance with Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik race rules, registration fees which have already been paid will not be refunded. Based on the force majeure conditions which came into force when the global pandemic was announced by WHO on March 11th, 2020 and are still in force today, both the initial, but also the alternative dates for Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik had to be changed. Registration fees have not been lost, they have been carried forward for the new event date – April 30th & May 1st, 2022, or you may transfer your registration to the 2023, 2024 or 2025 races or to another runner for any of the following editions (2022, 2023 or 2024). We must be advised on the deferrals by Dec 31, 2021.

When I transfer my registration to someone else, can I change the race/distance?

Yes, this is possible. If the distance is less than the one originally selected, this service is free. If the distance is greater, there will be a fee of 35 Euro.

What will happen to my plane tickets?

Unfortunately, this is out of our control. Please contact the airline or travel agent who issued your tickets to see if you will be able to change the date. In accordance with Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik race rules, the Organiser is not liable for these costs.

What will happen to my accommodation?

Unfortunately, this is out of our control. Please contact the provider of your accommodation service to see if you will be able to change the dates. In accordance with Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik race rules, the Organiser is not liable for these costs.

What happens if I can’t travel to Croatia on the new race date?

All participants can transfer their registrations to 2023, 2024 or 2025 races or to another person for 2022, 2023 or 2024 event by contacting us at info@du-motion.com no later than Dec 31, 2021.
